Why do we use AI?

AI is a tool we use to:

• • Enhance productivity
  • Increase readability and engagement
  • Check spelling and grammar
  • Dictate-to-text software for disability accommodation and saving time
• We may use AI as a tool to summarize or gather larger quantities of research to assist staff in creative design, marketing, research, and writing ideas – but not to substitute original writing content.
• All of the above help our staff to focus their time and efforts on areas within their expertise

What don’t we use AI for?

• We do not use AI as an author or coauthor on originally written blogs. 
• However, we may use AI to create summaries of prior original content for social media. 
• AI content or any content on this site is not a replacement for personalized medical advice. This includes not diagnosing, managing, prescribing, treating, or mitigating any disease by us nor AI. If you have any health concerns, contact a local provider or emergency medical services right away, and do not attempt to self-diagnose or self-treat alone nor with any AI tools.

• • All science articles are original, written and researched by our expert scientific and medical review team. 
  • Date stamps and credentials provide transparency and up-to-date research credibility. 

Rerences 

• • Works cited are clearly listed and formatted properly according to APA 7th Edition style guidelines 
  • Included at the bottom of each article 

Addressing AI Ethical Concerns

• We care deeply about the ethical and measured use of AI in our work.
• With AI, we recognize there may be bias or other errors introduced. We do our best to address these in the review process, but they may still occur, since neither we humans nor AI are perfect. 
• This policy was drafted by the BioSource team with cutting-edge research and ethics in mind. As a developing field, this policy may be updated anytime without notice, but with the date stamp above.
