Organically crafted clove bud essential oil is steam distilled from the blossoming, tiny, crimson buds of the Eugenia caryophyllata (syn Syzygium aromaticum) evergreen tree growing wild in the forests of Indonesia. Clove bud oil has a rich, warm, sweet-spicy, eugenolic aroma. 

Due to its exceptional antioxidant capabilities, clove essential oil has been included in many formulas for health and long life. The main component of the oil is eugenol, which is also responsible for clove oil’s strong fragrance. 

Eugenol is also an important molecule for modern dentistry that is still found in pharmaceuticals today for toothache and gum complaints.

Basil Essential Oil
Organically crafted sweet basil essential oil is steam distilled from the delicate, beautifully aromatic leaves of the Ocimum basilicum plant, growing in the lush Himalayan valleys of India. Sweet basil oil has a lively, spicy green, sweet herbaceous aroma; it has a complex fresh green-herbaceous character and rich balsamic undertones.

Also known as ‘sweet’, ‘true’, and ‘European’ basil, our basil oil is the linalool chemotype. The linalool chemotype in particular is found to be sweeter, and considered the safest, of all basil varieties, for topical use. 

Linalool is the predominant chemical component in this species of basil, lending a cool, gentle woody character to this oil. Also present in a smaller percentage is methyl chavicol (aka estragol), a constituent responsible for the mild, anise-like tones.
